Why I started 'DUAL'

'Dotware Unreal Assisted Learning' or DUAL is the distillation of 7 years of unique circumstances. I started as a game developer but found my career quickly become two-pronged under the umbrella of total immersion in Unreal Engine after being asked to be a teacher for game development in the Las Vegas Valley. As a software developer specializing in Unreal (see my Upwork profile), additionally teaching others to do the same compounded my understanding of Unreal's various processes and challenged thousands of engine edge cases. At this point I've taught Unreal at both the highschool and college levels for both public and private institutions and to individuals and studios as part of my consulting practice - over 3000 people have passed through classes and workshops I've taught. While this was wonderful, last year I made a committment to go all in on making Dotware a full fledged videogames production studio.

I still wanted to find a way to give our valuable development knowledge to others in a streamlined way that wouldn't become adverse to our creative goals but instead multiply the understanding we could provide by leveraging not just my knowledge but that of the team, hence - DUAL!'

One-Time Services

Convenient, Permanent Level Ups for Your Organization

These are one-time, permanent solutions for common development needs that we solved for ourselves and which we can solve for you. They use unique approaches we've developed over-time and will be custom-fit to each organization's situation.

Automatic Builds - $750 [$600 for DUAL Subscribers]

We will setup a permanently standing pipeline for your organization that will automatically package your Unreal Engine Project and upload the executable directly to Steam for playtesting. This means you can simply focus on development and periodically (can be multiple times a day) your Unreal project will export into a proper .exe in the background and upload without you needing to lift a finger.

User Friendly Source Control - Once and Forever After - $750 [$600 for DUAL Subscribers]

Source Control (also 'version control') is how you get a team to work on the same project at the same time. Individuals work and make 'commits' that 'push' to the master project. The process requires setup and can be a massive hastle. We can set it up for you in a very user-friendly, GUI based setup (Github Desktop) that implements LFS and other unique Unreal Engine based considerations, including some problem fixing .bat files we made ourselves.

Visual Studio (Source) Version of Unreal Setup - $750 [$600 for DUAL Subscribers]

"Unreal Engine Source" is different from the Unreal Engine you get on the Epic Games Launcher, in that it has all of the engine source code. Not every project needs Source, but those that include C++ or Multiplayer typically do. We've been through the process so if you want to save the time and hastle we'll setup your project so its working and opening in Unreal Engine Source.​

45 Minute Jumpstart on How to Use Unreal Engine for Beginners - $149 [FREE for DUAL Subscribers]

I've taught 'intro to using Unreal Engine' to over 3000 people across workshops and classes over a period of 6 years. In one hour I will get you, your team, or your class up to speed with using Unreal Engine, navigating its front interface like the Viewport, Content Browser, Details Panel, Outliner, and an introduction to programming in Blueprints. You will leave competent and confident enough to continue using Unreal  from there. For beginners, this is a great option and shortcut as it condenses what would be many tutorials into a single session with a guided instructor.
